FAQs

What is IV drip therapy?

A service that provides crucial micronutrients  directly into your bloodstream via an intravenous (IV) catheter inserted by a licensed medical professional. Your body's cells receive 100% bioavailable nutrients in the form of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants, enhancing their biochemical processes and functions. You also obtain necessary hydration to flush and expel toxins from your body. The overall effect is more efficient cellular function and a pathway towards achieving your optimal health and vitality from the inside out.

What if I'm scared of needles?

We understand that needles may cause anxiety in some of our clients. Our licensed and highly-trained medical staff are experts at starting IVs and performing shots in a quick and comforting manner with emphasis of making discomfort barely noticeable.

Can anyone get an IV?

There are very few people ineligible for an IV or shot service. We accept clients age 16 and older. Limited services are available during pregnancy with a prescription from the client's physician. From time to time, we have to turn people away if they have certain medical conditions (ie, heart failure or kidney disease) or if vital signs are abnormal requiring additional diagnostic testing or monitoring. Our clients' safety is our #1 priority.

Are Vessel's therapies covered by my health insurance?

No. Our therapies are not covered by insurance at this time.

Are Vessel's IV therapies and shots safe?

Yes. Our IV cocktails were custom formulated by our physician founder.  All of our ingredients are sourced from FDA-approved 503b pharmacies ensuring product quality and consistency. IV hydration therapy has been utilized for over 50 years.  It should be noted that all medical therapies carry a risk, therefore it is important for the client to understand the risks, benefits and alternatives and to receive therapies only from certified medical personnel.

Do I need to make an appointment?

We strongly encourage clients to book appointments to schedule service. We do accommodate walk-ins when available, but our locations can get very busy. Appointments may be made online or by calling your desired location.

Do you offer concierge calls?

IV and shot services can be brought to you via our mobile concierge service. Please contact your desired location for more details. An additional travel fee on top of the product price is charged for concierge mobile service.

Do I need to get testing done prior to getting an IV?

No. The Vessel's services are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any medical conditions. No testing is required prior to consultation*. Our eligibility criteria are based on a medical history review and vital signs obtained at the time of consultation. Our therapies are designed to restore balance to your body and help you maintain wellness.

What is the advantage of IV hydration?

IV drips provide fluids and essential nutrients directly into the bloodstream with 100% delivery to the target organs. While IV Infusions are not meant to be a substitute for oral intake, they do enable quick rehydration and replenishment of nutrients, restoring the body to peak balance. The sensation of bloating and fullness which occurs after drinking large amounts of fluids does not happen with IV hydration.

What is the advantage of getting vitamins via IV therapy?

Similar to IV hydration, intravenous infusion directly introduces 100% of the vitamins and nutrients into your system. Ingested vitamins and nutrients are subject to the absorption barrier in the gastrointestinal tract. Vitamins and nutrients consumed orally need to be ingested in larger amounts and more frequently in order to achieve similar concentration as would occur via intravenous or intramuscular supplementation. Ingestion of large amounts of vitamins can result in upset stomach, and certain conditions such as IBS, Crohn's, constipation, celiac disease, and pernicious anemia can severely limit absorption of nutrients from the GI tract resulting in deficiencies which can upset the body's nutritional balance.

How long do the beneficial effects last?

Results vary by individual and physical health status. Noticeable effects typically last 2-4 days; however, the underlying clinical benefits can continue beyond that.

Which of your IV's are best for me?

The Vessel's IVs fall into two categories: Refresher IVs are formulated to support recovery, while Top Shelf IVs are comprehensively formulated to detox, energize, reduce inflammation & cellular oxidative stress. Our Crewmembers will provide you with a thorough explanation on the therapies to help you decide on the most suitable service. Many of our clients receive IVs on a weekly or bi-weekly regimen.

Who develops the contents of your IV therapies?

The Vessel's IV therapies were developed and are periodically updated by our physician founder.  All of the ingredients are sourced from FDA-approved 503b compounding pharmacies.

How long does a shot service take?

Our shots typically take a few seconds to administer. Expect a shot service appointment to last approximately 10 minutes.

How quickly will I feel the effects of a shot service?

Effects depend on the individual's physical and health status. Typically, the effects become fully noticeable after 12 -24 hours.

How long do the beneficial effects of a shot last?

Individual results may vary, however shot benefits typically average 5-8 days

How often do people get a shots service?

Every client has different health and wellness goals which affect their treatment protocol and nutrient needs. Many of our clients receive a shot service weekly to bi-weekly, often alternating with an IV service.

Can I get more than one of your shot services at the same time?

Yes, our shots only contain natural ingredients and water-soluble vitamins. The effects of the different shots can be synergistic, and any excess will be excreted naturally by the body.

Can I get an IV therapy and a shot at the same time?

Yes. The Vessel often suggests an alternating maintenance schedule of bi-weekly IV treatments with a shot treatment during off weeks as an ideal recommendation. IV nutrients and hydration are very effective at rapidly replenishing any deficiencies and helping the body establish balance. The shots then act as a reservoir for continuous release of nutrients, essentially prolonging the effects.

Are your medications preservative-free?

Some of our medications do come in vials which contain a small amount of benzoyl alcohol as a preservative.

What will I feel when I'm getting an IV service?

Many clients will taste B vitamins during the beginning of an IV infusion. Most clients feel a sense of calm or relaxation during a treatment. Some people may have mild stomach upset during a glutathione push at the end of an IV treatment.

How long does an NAD+ infusion last?

Based on individual factors and a client's experience with NAD+ infusions, a treatment may last from 1.5 to 3.5 hours. Increased exposure to NAD+ typically allows more rapid infusion over time.

What will I feel when I'm getting an NAD+ treatment?

Clients unfamiliar with NAD+ may feel stomach upset, nausea, sinus congestion or body aches during infusion. When this occurs, the infusion rate is adjusted until symptoms resolve. Following an NAD+ treatment immediately with a Myers' cocktail typically relieves any lingering effects.

Can a minor obtain IV/shot services?

The Vessel treats clients aged 16 and older.  A parental waiver of liability is required for clients under 18 years of age, for whom limited IV and shot services are available.  Additionally, clients under 18 require a note from their physician stating testing (EKG or echocardiogram) has been performed clearing the client of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
